Flying Blimp Walrus Could Have Assisted in Evacuations
It is too bad we did not have four or five of them to pick up all the people in New Orleans who did not have a ride out of the city before Hurricane Katrina. Boy are they going to be a life saver? Think on this. Why don't we have a couple of squadrons of heavy lifting blimps for such things? Don't worry we will, but it may take a couple of years. You see they have been looking at how to move more for less? Imagine having to move millions of tons of fighting gear to the battle area? Well giant blimps may hold the key, because they are cheap to operate, can carry lots of weight and save lots of money. What is DARPA? Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

Boeing is Really Flying Now
The Boeing Company's stock performance is that of a maximum takeoff on a VSTOL Fighter jet to say the least. As the world grows closer together commercial aviation has a chance to take advantage of the new one-world economy. Stoneifer the most recent former CEO of the Boeing Company, who I have only met on one occasion since he was previously in the car wash industry, had an extra martial affair and was ousted from the firm. Commercial Aviation has taken quite a hit in the last five years and things did not look so great for Boeing after having massive layoffs, orders for new aircraft cut and lackluster sales. Before the Annual Paris Air Show the Boeing Company had already made three deals for commercial aircraft of worth over 5 Billion in sales.

Do Jet Lag Diets Work?
Over the years thousands of people have downloaded copies of this diet online and it is reputed to have been used by an impressive list of people including the late President Ronald Regan, the US Secret Service, the CIA and the US Army and Navy. These questions are of course important but perhaps the real question that we should be asking is why a diet should be effective at all as a jet lag cure. Surely, if those using it for the deployment had found it effective then you would expect more than 41 percent of them to have wanted to use it again coming home. Of these, 95 used the diet on the outbound leg of the journey and 39 used the diet coming home. Jet lag results from the inability of your body to adjust its own internal clock fast enough to bring it into line with local time when traveling.

Concorde Crash Conspiracy - It Could Have Been Prevented
The aircraft on fire took off and then immediately crashed. In studying the Concorde crash the investigators determined it was caused by debris on the runway, which had fallen off a Continental Airlines Aircraft, which went down the same runway prior to the Concorde. It is a small real-time video camera, which runs along the runway on a track and videos the aircraft as it lands or takes off. It hit the debris and it popped a tire and that tire shredded and sent pieces into the bottom of the wing and fuel tank along with a little of the debris. The Concorde however takes off at 180 knots or at least that day it tried.

FAA Intervention in Privatized Space Flight is Ridiculous
Burt Rutan and his team of designers, engineers and test pilots at Scaled Composites did something no private group had ever done. Boy could I tell you stories dating back to the early 60's of just what a screwed up agency it really is. The FAA needs to get their heads out of their rears and their fingers out of ours and I am not the only one who knows this. Which is fine, it is nice to have the support of your government for a change. Luckily the fractional jet market has taken off, but only after the FAA ditched some of their onerous regulations.

Common Cockpit Concepts and Convenient Configurations
Often we see drivers in cars sitting too low and can barely see over the steering wheel, when we rent an aircraft everything is in the wrong place. Humans do not have the patients for that really and the potential loss of equipment and life is the resultant. We spend too much time in training of soldiers, drivers, pilots, operators with increasingly more complicated equipment. Now then I am not criticizing the lack of cranial capacity in the modern day human, rather simply suggesting a reality check is needed. If you gain or lose weight you can then adjust manually the Common Cockpit you are in and it will imprint on your SmartCard the new position.

Increasing TAS in Modern Day Fighters with Expandable Wing Tips
Designers and engineers, even pilots have often thought of ways to redesign the fastest and best performing aircraft in the modern era. So we either need some new radical designs, change the air itself or further modify the aircraft in flight to better maintain efficiencies at each airspeed, altitude and stage of flight. The plane it hit both pilots ejected, however the F-15 is a tough bird with a lot of thrust and it was still under control by its pilot. I propose another modification, a simpler one, which can achieve these types of increases while using very little weight. We seem to be reaching the top end of aerodynamic design in an atmosphere in modern day fighters.

General Aviation Manufacturing is in the Tank; Hang On It is Going to Get Worse
It is of course not only the aviation sector and it is not just the US, for instance in Europe also both with Airbus and the entire auto industry. It appears that the technological advantage that we have here in the United States is no longer going to sustain us without further advances.

Point to Point VS Spoke and Hub? Air Taxi
Pre-sort before it goes to the hub in Memphis means less cost and more profitable flights. Boeing it is said took a big gamble in predicting the future of air travel.

A Look at Fractional Jet Ownership
Fractional jet ownership is a fairly new concept. That's not to say that private jet ownership is for everyone, however.

FAA Intervention in Privatized Space Flight is Ridiculous
With the help of some Billionaire entrepreneurial investors they are poised to build an entire industry of Private Space Flight. During the big ceremony and media event following the third successful launch into space and safe return, the FAA was there to make a few comments.

Airport Noise Reduction
Reducing airport noise can be achieved by using sound waves towards the noise area. By sending the waves up they would meet with the sound from the aircraft and cancel out the noise from the airport.

India Air Traffic Issues to Come
Meanwhile India's airline passenger traffic is expected to exceed 50 million in less than five years and that is at the current growth rates. India will need to set up the latest in air traffic control to handle the crowed skies.

Young Men Trying to Imitate the 9-11 Scenario, Part IV
This gives them a since of status they may not have been able to achieve, it gives them respect they want and helps them help the kids. They will live longer than we will and it appears they are smarter too.
