NASA SATS for Point-to-Point Air Travel Solutions
The proof being the advancement in the marketplace by discount airline carriers of course and the most recent acceleration coming about with fractional jet aircraft market. The Spoke and Hub was a creation of the larger Airlines and Fred Smith's Fed Ex concept. Which indeed is something to see and is recommended for any logistics or distribution student as the economies of scale nearly pay for the extra distances that many packages travel thru the night to reach you by 10 AM guaranteed the next morning. But even now we are seeing Fed Ex pre-sort and send much of the packages direct, rather than to the Memphis Mid-Night Sort. NASA is rapidly working on ways to improve safety and efficiency in the movement of people around the globe, which will free up air-traffic and alleviate some of the over worked and over used airports of our nation.

17 Ways to Keep Safe and Secure When Flying
If you see anything in the airport or on an aircraft that looks out of place, unfitting and unusual behavior or potential security violations, inform either a law enforcement representative or security personnel. Many hazardous products are not allowed on aircraft. If circumstances on an aircraft have the potential for danger, it is usually better to share information and work together with crew members and other passengers. In the event of an in-flight emergency, you should take stock of the situation before using any communications device, including the aircraft's seatback telephones. When you are in an airport terminal or on an aircraft, take notice of your surroundings, and those around you.

Making a Mechanical Manta with Material Memory Manufacturing Methods
Once airborne it can act as a communication relay and interact with all satellites, ships, cell towers, wireless military technologies, AWACS, Aircraft and other UAVs. The balloon system will operate in a similar fashion to the Georgia Tech Graduate Student's concept depicted here. The MMR UUV - UAV will also have its own autonomous navigation and terrain following system in case of communication failures or electronic attack, which will be deployed if needed. The back-up secondary system will be in a carbon nano-tube constructed EA secure preventative casing. The manta ray will have air tanks inside of its wings and a sound device, which will also operate a sonar and an ELF communication system.

Airline Security; Stewardesses The Last Line Of Defense!
This fact has repeatedly been proven by security inspections, where security agents, have boarded aircrafts with weapons and explosives etc. There is also the real threat, of terrorist co-operators working within the Airline service industry, which has access to the Aircrafts and could place weapons or bombs onboard the Aircraft, to be used by the terrorists. Who endangers the safety of co-passengers and the aircraft due to mental disturbances, alcohol consumption, stress or disregard for airline regulations, such as remaining seated during takeoff and landing etc. This is a fact that is evident by the many cases of persons carrying weapons onboard aircrafts anyway. There is also the fact, that the Airlines often have little control over the actual Airport security and close to no-control at foreign Airports.

A380 Bathrooms
But Airbus is not the only commercial aircraft company, which has their shit together. Both Airbus and Boeing have seen record orders for their latest model jets. Ready to get out of the driver seat yet and into a futuristic amenity rich modern jet airliner? The major commercial jet manufacturers and airlines are betting that you will. The Boeing 787 will have humidified air, so no more dry eyes during flights and because of its stronger composite cabin, it will leave the cabin pressure at 6,000 feet instead of 8,000 or 10,000 feet, meaning it is safer on the bio-system with more oxygen. Will this get more air travelers out of their SUVs and into airliners for those 350 plus mile journeys? Some industry analysts think it just might be the ticket the market sector needs.

Moving Troops and Evacuation Strategies
After all it takes some 2 hours to load up a 747 and another 2-hours to unload it and many aircraft all arriving at that same time or near the same time anywhere would over load the airports and over stress terminals and ground transportation. One way to move vast amounts of people, is to do so with large aircraft. If you had to evacuate 1 million people from let's say a coming Cat 5 Hurricane, you have everyone go to an airport and then lay them down, put them to sleep and ship them out to a safe haven and wake them up as you have resources for ground transportation once there. Well, this idea might be better used to move massive amounts of people out of a region in an airlift or air rescue mission. Perhaps we can learn better evacuation techniques from this Hurricane Katrina dilemma? Think on this.

Automated Following Jump System for Paratroopers, AFJS
As one aircraft goes in another follows in behind it. Due to the number of aircraft dropping and the number of paratroopers this data can also be sent back to the command and control of the Blue Force for tracking. Once this technology is implemented in practice jumps that data can be set onto an ERSI platform and 3D grid to help in simulator training for troops, thus we can train more with less actual jumps and save the major injuries to our soldiers and risk deaths which can occur. This will improve safety in night jumps and under zero-zero visibility or near so. When paratroopers are deployed in the battlespace each GPS unit will have a buzzer allowing the parachute operator to know he is too close to the next nearest chute or that a chute is rapidly approaching his/her airflow.

Entering Business Aviation, Part V: Tips on Finding Work
Unlike the Aviation Employment Board, most will charge you a monthly fee to register. Naturally, it is my preferred method but some of the other sites are helpful too. This last community, the Aviation Employment Board is run by me and is a companion to the Corporate Flight Attendant Community. See if you notice any difference in jobs listed. If you are a corporate flight attendant, do not expect many jobs to be listed publicly in any case.

New Airbus A-380 Beats Out 747
Luckily bringing down such a large aircraft will not be easy, nor will it be able to be blown out of the sky with a handheld anti-aircraft missile unless it is lucky enough to hit a fuel tank. Airbus is putting countermeasures for anti-aircraft missiles as an option for those airlines, which order them. Many airports cannot even take an airliner so large, as the distance to turn it around are significant and the wing tips are wider than that of the runway, meaning the wing tip vortices will dig up the grass on the sides of the runways making ditches on both sides. This of course is unlikely because most handheld missiles are heat seeking and therefore will generally go to where the heat is instead, thus taking out one of four engines. If and when an International Terrorist Cell gets one, it will become instantly the largest airline disaster in the history of the world, due to the shear number of passengers on board.

Airport Noise Reduction
By sending the waves up they would meet with the sound from the aircraft and cancel out the noise from the airport. Yet when you think about it transportation is almost as important in a civilization as the flow of communication. Often we over look the obvious things to problems in our society instead we blame municipalities, military and airplanes. Think on this next time you find yourself complaining about the noise of an airport. Sound is a Sin Wave and creating another wave opposite to it you can cancel out the highs.

Airbus A-380 is Pretty Big
Luckily an aircraft that big is not coming down with one little surface to air missile unless it hits in exactly the right spot. Aircraft taking off behind it will need to wait 5 minutes instead of 3-minute separation due to amount of air it will move from the wing tip vortices, enough to flip a little business get right over in flight. Another huge issue is most airports are to small to take the aircraft. The aircraft holds more fuel than a Boeing 727 weighs. Think on it, the aviation community is as the world waits for an additional six month delay now.

Entering Business Aviation, Part III: Training Options
Please be aware that the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) do not require that a flight attendant be assigned to an aircraft with fewer than 20 seats onboard. Matt runs the widely popular Corporate Flight Attendant Community website at http. Alteon Training, LLC is a Boeing training company that started cabin attendant training in 2003 while Beyond and Above Corporate Flight Attendant Training got started in 2002. As mentioned previously, training is not a legal requirement therefore program curriculum can vary widely. When talking with training operators, be prepared to ask a lot of questions, read their website, obtain their literature, and shop wisely.

Entering Business Aviation, Part II: Pay Rates for Flight Attendants
Contract rates vary widely and depend, again, on your location, responsibilities, experience, etc. I have heard of flight attendants flying for $0 just to get the experience and hours [how could a company conscientiously allow that to happen? Okay, stupid question!] I've also heard of a flight attendant making $600 per day flying internationally. If the company insists on paying 35K, guess what? You won't make anything near 60K, you'll be crossed off their list and the person settling for 35K will get the job. If I told you that you can expect an average of $300. Generally, never expect anyone to reveal their salary to you.

Flying Blimp Walrus Could Have Assisted in Evacuations The Walrus Super Blimps will soon be out to bid to see who can come up with a suitable design and plan. Imagine giant blimps picking them all up and taking them to Atlanta, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio? Then when that darn levee broke which most people suspected it might a blimp could have had 20 cargo containers filled with sand and simply lowered them into the breach to slow down the water flow and then used sand bags to fill in the spaces between? Or it might have picked up broken pieced of I-10 bridge sections and laid them on their sides covering the hole in the levee? Then the Army Corp of Engineers could quickly shore up the levee system and get the pumps and power back working and all those lives would have been saved? Why don't we have a couple of squadrons of heavy lifting blimps for such things? Don't worry we will, but it may take a couple of years.
Fuselage Mounted Laser Vortex Enhancer Directed to Airfoils Recently it was announced that they would put this new airborne laser system onto fighter jets. When not in use for evasive maneuvering the pole would retract into the nose of the aircraft.
How to Save on Airfare Recent studies have shown that online airfare shoppers visit more than three sites on average to shop for airfares. Another way to get reduced airfares is to book all your trips during down seasons.
Sport Aviation and Jet Aircraft Eclipse Aviation expects to deliver approximately 140 aircraft in 2004, 500 aircraft in 2005, and 900 aircraft in 2006. To date, approximately the first two-and-a-half years of production aircraft have been sold out.
Learning to Fly Learning to fly is relatively easy, the tests you have to take to get your license are not any harder than exams in school. Once you catch the flying bug you will want to go up again and again.
Increasing TAS in Modern Day Fighters with Expandable Wing Tips We seem to be reaching the top end of aerodynamic design in an atmosphere in modern day fighters. The fighters we have today like the F-18 Hornet (Navy) and the F-16 Talon, F-15 Eagle (Air Force) have substantial fuselages which act as wings.
