Charlie Crist named attorney Steven Burton and surgeon Joseph Diaco to the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority. Both Burton and Diaco will serve terms that began July 15 and will end July 1 2013 a release from the governor’s office said. Burton who lives in Lutz is an attorney with Broad and Cassel Attorneys at Law. He succeeds Stephen Mitchell. Diaco lives in Tampa and succeeds Kenneth Anthony.

The consortium of about 26 pilots of Bay Aircraft wners Inc. have been in fierce wrangling with airport officials over the terms of a transfer of their 30-year lease agreement which still had about 14 years left. The new Panama City-Bay County International Airport is expected to open in May 2010. Under the terms of the new agreement the airport will construct new hurricane-resistant hangars for the pilots.
