The Evendale-based manufacturer of jet engines has not released any hard numbers for targeted job cuts. Headcount reductions in Cincinnati will be focused on salaried positions mostly through attrition retirements and voluntary terminations the company said Friday. Spokesman Rick Kennedy said even though new engine orders are down the business had its best year in history in 2008. While its order backlog remains solid and there have not been any major order cancellations “we have the same uncertainties and concerns as everybody else” Kennedy said.

has proposed regulations that would extend its jurisdiction to all general aviation airplanes larger than 12500 pounds. The agency conducted the first of five meetings nationwide on the regulations on Tuesday at the Westchester County Airport. The regulations would have a special effect in the Northeast home to Westchester County and Teterboro Airports two of the busiest general aviation airports in the country.
