The Airbus A-319 with 49 passengers onboard had been flying for around an hour when it received news of the bomb threat said Aeroflot spokeswoman Irina Dannenberg in Moscow. Greek aviation officials said the plane was being thoroughly checked for explosives. “An unknown man called and said there was a bomb on the Aeroflot plane headed from Athens to Moscow” a Greek civil aviation official told Reuters. “We told the pilot to return to Athens for the appropriate checks. FAA inspects wreckage of single-engine plane

December 22 2008 NRTH CUNTY: A Federal Aviation Administration safety inspector examined wreckage yesterday from Saturday afternoon’s fatal plane crash northwest of Warner Springs FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said. Two men were killed when the single-engine plane crashed. The county Medical Examiner’s ffice said it is conducting autopsies but it could take several days to identify the men. FAA and National Transportation Safety Board officials are examining the cause of the crash but that process typically takes several months Gregor said. The plane is registered to a Las Vegas resident.

The Boeing 737 was leaving Denver for Houston when it failed to take off tried to stop and failed to come to a halt before running out of runway. The focus for the present at least is on the brakes but without explanation as to why the plane did not get into the air.
