Nigeria: Aviation Industry, Beechcraft Aircraft And the Obudu Triangle
AllAfrica.com – Apr 4, 2008
In this report, Samuel Odaudu analyses some of the critical issues ranging from government negligence, poor funding, and lack of equipment, among others, which remain the bane of the aviation sector in Nigeria. That a plane can take off within the Nigerian airspace from the popular Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos, en route to a precise destination at Obudu Airstrip in Cross River State and more than two weeks after, it has not landed at its destination, and if it has crashed, the crash site has not been found, is the painful mystery that the federal government, aviation authorities and experts have been helplessly but frantically trying to explain to the awe-stricken Nigerian populace. Worst still, the Aviation Ministry shot itself in the leg when, without carrying out any proper verification, alleged that it was misled by a wrong information from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and went ahead to announce that the "crashed" aircraft had been found. GA_googleFillSlot(“AllAfrica_Story_Inset”); Precisely on March 15, 2008, the plane took off from MMA en route to Obudu Airstrip, and according to reports, it maintained a chain of radio communication with the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, (NAMA) and used its radar until about 50 nautical miles away before it was handed over to Obudu Airstrip.

On ATF, the committee said the cost was on the rise on account of the global surge in crude prices. Therefore, “either the Centre should bring ATF within the ‘Declared Goods’ or the States should be persuaded to adopt the standard Value Added Tax rate of 12.

Damage of the support beam, which is dormant, in combination with failure of a doorstop attached to any remaining undamaged support beam will degrade the structural integrity of the door, resulting in possible depressurization or loss of the door.
