Aviation group spent $2.4M lobbying

4 million in 2007 to lobby on aviation security and other transportation issues. The trade group spent about $1. 4 million in the second half of 2007 to lobby the federal government, according to a disclosure form posted online Feb.

9 bln yuan, the official China Securities Journal reported, citing sources close to the matter. The report said the company sold 14. 51 mln tons worth of oil products in 2007, meeting the aviation fuel requirements of about 90 pct of China’s airlines. The company’s Singapore-listed unit nearly collapsed in 2005 due to derivative trading losses of 550 mln usd.

The deal, which is designed to reduce risk, will see BBA continuing to own and run the scheme, as well as retaining liabilities, a source told the newspaper. BBA declined to comment, the paper added.

Net income will probably fall 21 percent to 5.
