Fuselage Mounted Laser Vortex Enhancer Directed to Airfoils

DARPA has developed a small laser cannon, just like Star Wars to use as a weapon in a fighter plane for air to air combat, destroying enemy missiles or perhaps using a combination later on of Argon or CO2 (depending on altitude) for close air support. Recently it was announced that they would put this new airborne laser system onto fighter jets. The system, which will go onto a fighter jet would be called the; "HELLADS" or High Energy Liquid Laser Area Defense System, it is being tested now. It would be a system based on Israel's THEL system, which is a mobile "Tactical High Energy Laser."

I propose we have a set of tiny mirrors in front the leading edges of the wings of the aircraft redirecting the high-energy laser beam to areas above the wings and perhaps also onto other airfoils such as stabilizers and canards. This would blast the air and/or create vortex's, which would enhance lift which would allow for mini-tornado sucking of air over the wing in critical high angle of attack situations. I propose to use this technique to enhance lift by creating miniature eddies or vortexes directly above the boundary layers above the surfaces of the airfoils.

It would makes sense to prove concept to use the A-6 Intruder or the S-3 Viking since they are high-wing aircraft to start. The F-15 might be another good candidate if it works as well as the math shows. I further propose that this system would synchronize with the amount of air needed to maintain airflow needed in the intakes for air, wing lift and the thrust vectoring jets for stability. When not in use for evasive maneuvering the pole would retract into the nose of the aircraft.

We need an off-shoot of this technology which is being tested by General Atomics and Lockheed to prove my concept will work. We can use redirected or reflected laser cannon beams to increase stability in transitional flight situations to prevent departure of the aircraft from flight, by changing the air around the airfoils and control surfaces, Think about it.

Entering Business Aviation, Part III: Training Options
Time for some training! So, you are not sure what type of training you will need or how it compares to the commercial side of aviation. Caveat emptor -- let the buyer beware -- is the siren call for all of you seeking training.

Here are two secrets to finding really cheap airline tickets online. Let's say you've found a great website that offers really cheap airline tickets online - like lastminutetravel.

Common Cockpit Concepts and Convenient Configurations
If you gain or lose weight you can then adjust manually the Common Cockpit you are in and it will imprint on your SmartCard the new position. One of the big pushes in aviation and military is to have common cockpit designs, which are ergonomically correct.

Entering Business Aviation, Part IV: Crafting a Resume
in business aviation, which is generally a very conservative field, the flamboyant self promoter is often ignored. I have heard objections from some about this particular practice.

Aluminum Cleaner for Aircraft Detailing by Alcoa
The product is distributed by CLB Enterprises at Alcoa Corporation for aluminum polish in all aspects of detailing. There are many choices for aircraft detailing when it comes to aviation uses.

Airline Security; Stewardesses The Last Line Of Defense!
There is also the fact, that the Airlines often have little control over the actual Airport security and close to no-control at foreign Airports. However, first the Stewardesses have to intervene and are often the victim, of verbal and physical abuse from the unruly passengers.

Flying Blimp Walrus Could Have Assisted in Evacuations
The Walrus Super Blimps will soon be out to bid to see who can come up with a suitable design and plan. Imagine giant blimps picking them all up and taking them to Atlanta, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio? Then when that darn levee broke which most people suspected it might a blimp could have had 20 cargo containers filled with sand and simply lowered them into the breach to slow down the water flow and then used sand bags to fill in the spaces between? Or it might have picked up broken pieced of I-10 bridge sections and laid them on their sides covering the hole in the levee? Then the Army Corp of Engineers could quickly shore up the levee system and get the pumps and power back working and all those lives would have been saved? Why don't we have a couple of squadrons of heavy lifting blimps for such things? Don't worry we will, but it may take a couple of years.

De Ice Boots Preventative Care
If you have de-ice boots on your aircraft you realize that for them to last you will need to keep them in new condition. Being that de-ice boots are a safety item many AI Mechanics will not sign off the annual if the boots look checked or old.

A380 Bathrooms
The Boeing 787 will have humidified air, so no more dry eyes during flights and because of its stronger composite cabin, it will leave the cabin pressure at 6,000 feet instead of 8,000 or 10,000 feet, meaning it is safer on the bio-system with more oxygen. (40,000 feet above sea level.
